Writings For Someone

[CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION]

When this is finished, it will be a place to display my current writing projects. The title of the thread comes from the name of my first journal. (In case you were...like, wondering). I hope to be updating once every week, or once every two weeks when I get busy. Beware!

Project List

~ Main Project ~

The Book of the Worlds

Some - a chosen few - have been exposed to my universe. Kallistians might recall mention of a place called the Three's Worlds. (If you don't remember, then you were not a true Kallistian - that's where the whole RP took place!) If you were not a Kallistian, or if you haven't been exposed to the "Alleverse", then The Book of the Worlds is tailored just for you. It is a dictionary, an encyclopedia, a compendium of all things pertaining to the Worlds. It will cover topics from geography, cultures, divine beings, magic, religion, currency, and cosmology. The most monumental task will be the timeline - spanning from the ancient beginning of the Worlds and bringing it up until the start of the series which takes place there. It is hard to say when this project will be "done", but I will work until I feel it is done. It is not my most exciting writing, but I hope it IS interesting. I plan on finished this before I begin the Cycle (the series). In order to make it a big more interactive, I will be opening it to all suggestions, comments, tips, thoughts, etc. Please do offer your opinion as I shape my Worlds!
Musical Inspiration: Uh, everything. In particular, Celtic Women, Indigo Girls, and Over the Rhine

~ Alternate/Upcoming Projects ~

True Dreaming

My only novel (that I am aware of...) taking place in THIS reality (on Earth, that is), True Dreaming is a story about therians. The term "therian" comes from the word "therianthrope" - beast man. Yes, yes. It's a story about shapeshifters. It centers around the idea of a secret therian society that has existed in our world since the Dark Ages. As our world modernizes and mechanizes, it becomes harder to the therians to exist undiscovered. The plot evolves from a ring of affluent business dealers who hunt, drug, and sell therians in a kind of black slave market. Protagonists Hector (a boy who moves in with his Aunt after his parents suffer extreme marital problems) and Willow (daughter of local inn owners who posesses the power to sense when therians are around) must gain the trust of therians in the surrounding woodland to prevent their capture as the slave ring expands its net. Eventual confrontations, romance, surprise, and general awesomeness ensue. The plot for this story isn't quite hammered out. I'm going for an edgy, dark feeling with just enough humor to make it okay for younger teens. Definite mythical, almost Native American vibe.
Musical Inspiration: Snow Patrol, Anna Nalik, The Fray

Eckse-Terra (Working Title)

The quirkiest of my writing projects, Eckse-Terra is my personal "journey down the Rabbit Hole" into a kooky little world where rainbows grow on trees and dragons have severe allergies. The idea for this story came out of a memorable conversation with a close friend of mine where we spent a car ride making up a crazy, satirical land where the traditional fairy tale was dumped on its head. I've since taken that (by myself, as he is NOT a writer) concept and flushed it out to create Eckse-Terra. This project follows the adventures of a young girl named Pira Bluer, whose family - you guessed it - dyes things blue. Growing up under the careful watch of her Uncle in a village full of such coloring people, Pira waited impatiently for "the ultimate adventure" to find her. When a talking dog falls from the sky, wakes up, and tells her that her world is in danger, she knows she has found it. Further conflict is introduced when her best friend is kidnapped and another disappears. Novel hosts a diverse cast of character, including but not limited to an arrogant cat spirit, a boy with twenty-five names, a dragon with a knack for fashion, and a slew of wacky princesses. Should be light, humerous, yet shockingly meaningful. Might break this up into a serious of shorter chapter books, like Deltora Quest or the like.
Musical Inspiration: Ingrid Michaelson, Colbie Calliat, various soundtracks, Hem

They Whisper My Name

My project with the least amount of planning - I do know that it will be a magic-heavy story set in a smaller-scaled world modeled after ancient Ireland/Scotland. It will tell the story of Siobhan, the blind descendent of ancient druids. In order to save her homeland, the forested mountains of Eoghan, she must befriend primodial monsters and learn the sacred arts of the druid culture. The neighboring land, a low-lying kingdom, provides a splash of antagonism as a monstrous warlord sets fire to the forest borders. Plenty of romance, suspense, all the good stuff. A personal tribute of mine to my Celtic heritage/spiritual beliefs, and also to such inspiring writers like Juliet Marillier and Morgan Llwelyn.
Musical Inspiration: CELTIC WOMEN. That is all.

Window-Watching

Alas! A play! One of my first real good play ideas - Window-Watching is a one act set in a high school guidance office. It follows a day in the life of Eryn Chibuzee, a professional therapist who always settles for second best: in her job, in her family, and in her personal life. Her main visitor: a boy named Chance Stragduerhaussenflaecherdorf. Chance is your average rebellious teenager, believing that school is an impediment to living and is all about abandoning it completely. His day - and Chibuzee's - is turned upside down when Chance falls in love. His romantic grounds? She can pronounce his last name. In what I hope will be a fast-paced and witty little play, Chance must find a way to confront his heart's desire while Chibuzee learns to acknowledge her's. The cast includes Chibuzee, Chance, the new girl Shannon (who has a new lessons of her own to learn), the Principle (played as an off-stage voice), and Mr. Lorne (an insecure and jitty teacher whose only two loves in life are teaching advanced psychics and Batman). It has a moral. Is cool.
Musical Inspiration: Uh...

The Crossing

A more serious stage play inspired by the famous Death Cab for Cutie song - it follows the journey of a woman named Delilah on her "search for heaven" after dying in a bus crash. She meets cynical Brent, who claims to be have "been there and turned around". Very heavy and a bit slower-paced than Window-Watching. Not intended to be very long, so my main struggle in packing everything I want to say into what few lines I have. You get three guesses what the song is. Hint: it's about dying people.
Musical Inspiration: Death Cab for Cutie XD

The River Cycle

Of course, I save the biggest and bestest for last - this is the Cycle. It is the project closest to my heart. My literary baby. The Cycle is a series of high fantasy novels set in the Three's Worlds (hence the Book) telling the tale of an epic clash between those holy beings who created Existence and a great monster, the Eater of All Things, who has risen after centuries of slumber to destroy it. When Tena Greswind - Headmistress to an ancient society of the Worlds' defenders - see the end of the Worlds in her dreams, she appeals to A-Sei, the Immortal Fire, for help. She is answered by another vision - a vision of chosen warriors, rising to fight the tides of darkness washing over the Worlds. These warriors are the Promised - those who above all others have a chance of defeated the Eater. If you haven't guessed, this is a big project. It spans years of war, travel, death, and birth. (You can't save the world in a day, after all). There are seven Promised, each with their own personal journies and discoveries, and the eighth - their leader, the Demi, a mortal touched by the most elusive powers of the Worlds. A majority of my writing career has gone into planning this adventure. Including would-be-heroes like Arelliyune Bryni (an arrogant and stubborn heir scarred by the death of her mother), the Blackjay (enigmatic captain of a mercenary company with questionable motives), Riddle Fluan (a soulless servant taded into an assassin's service by his struggling family) and a staple Alle character, Selena Llwellyn (a head-strong and fatally innocent girl whose stunted wings belie her incredible powers). The first of the Cycle - working-titled Strange Fire will likely be my next project after I finish The Book.
Musical Inspiration: Uh, everything. It's hard to pinpoint something...if I had to, I'd say Indigo Girls.

Will add to the list if new projects pop up...hopefully not before I can make some, no, any headway on these.

Blatant Advertising

*cheesy commercial jingle*

Hello, devoted readers? Do you like Alle's writing? Want more? Would you like to read other stories written by a girl just as (if not MORE) awesome and talented than Alle? If so, check out the BUSPOD SOCIETY!

The Buspod Society (laughingly abreviated BS) is a blog shared by me and my cosmis sister, known as Lumy. It is a place where we post our writings, poems, rants, and general mayhem. It is AWESOME.

BS is updated every Sunday (known as "Update Day") by both Lumy and myself. So there is never a dull moment! What kinds of things does Alle put there? Plenty of the same stuff she puts here, in ADDITION to NEW stuff ONLY found on the BUSPOD, such as rants (about anything ranging from market writing to Miley Cyrus) and spicy book reviews!

And who knows? With more viewers (right now we are at an earth-shattering...439!) and COMMENTS (a star-exploding...like, three!!!) will we be adding MORE NEW THINGS like "Writer Showcases", "Write-a-ton Diaries", and "Author of the Month".

SO GO! IT'S FREE.
