Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
In about forty five minutes I shall be leaving to take part in Clarion University's graduation ceremony. I should be excited. I should consider this a special moment. I should.
In reality, though, I just wish I was sleeping in right now.

Smithy, I feel your pain.
Jason, go sleep at the ceremony =D
I've never been fond of graduations.
But I am going to see the Avengers today. Yaaaaay.

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
I hate graduations; I'm not even going to mine next year. It's one thing in high school, when you're graduating with the people you've spent up to 12 years in classes with, but in college? I know less than a quarter of my class, so I don't particularly want to sit around with people I don't know for hours, solely for the purpose of walking across a stage. They can just mail me the diploma, I'll be happy; no need for customs and ceremonies.

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
I almost did fall asleep. Then the head of the alumni association delivered a poem about how I need to donate money to the school and I started trying to fashion a noose out of my honors chord.
I hate to say it, but in our society getting a bachelor's degree is less special and more expected. Now, when I finish grad school sure I'll be excited. That's not something everyone does, right? That's worth fussing over. I understand that not everyone gets a bachelor's degree, but so very many people do that I just can't call myself special for it. My family wants to be proud of me, though, so I guess I can can the cynicism for a little bit and play along.

ARE WE DEAD AGAIN?
BECAUSE I WON'T ALLOW IT.
THIS AIN'T CALLED A GRITTY REBOOT FOR NOTHING. DON'T MAKE ME DROPKICK THIS THREAD IN THE FACE.

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
As Kris put it,
I'm never going to abandon the forum this time around. As long as the Internet exists, I'll be here. I wouldn't mind a LITTLE more activity (especially in the RP forum), but overall it works for me. We all have our disappearances and our reappearances, but as long as we keep checking back here every once in a while, it's a good way to stay in touch.
The forum is slow, but active. Suits me fine.

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
Hopefully Ish's RP can jumpstart our writing brains. I was just catching up on Fatima posts, myself. Might have to retcon some stuff with Serrigo, but we'll work it out.
Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
Smithy, that's what you said about Sands ;_;
And yes, Fatima. Now that you're back, my procrastination has justification

I left that because this came along again, combined with the fact that Tiger was taking a break. I would've been left with Cojisto trolling the game. XP

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
This graduate thing isn't so great. So far all it has done for me is turn situations like:
"Do you have a job?"
"No, but it's okay because I'm a student."
"Oh, okay!"
into situations like:
"Do you have a job?"
"No."

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
I realized something last night. When it was agreed to restart this forum, one of the things we said was "no RPs unless there is a particular demand." Now that's. . .all we do here.

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
I think it's kinda fitting, actually. Not sure about the rest of you, but RPing is how I met pretty much everybody here.
Though yeah, it is a bit amusing, all things considered.

There was a demand. Literally from the second I restarted the forum. Amano PM'd me on FB and was all "YES TOTALLY STARTING AN RP" so I just figured, whatever.
Also, no one apparently wanted anything to do with the Hole in the Wall, so yeah.

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
Well, let's face it, we're not really good at feedback most of the time so we're not really inclined to post our own works. I'm probably the worst offender, since I suck at feedbacking.
Roleplays, however, bring us together and allow us to bounce ideas.
Blah blah blah other stuff blah.

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
So, speaking of feedbacking, some of that on the Villain Story script would be helpful

Feedback? What is this "feedback" you speak of?

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
It's this thing where you read someone's works and leave them thoughts on how you feel about it, or ideas on how to improve it.
Seeing as most of what we're doing is simply posting things and not giving anyone else any feedback (with some exception, of course) we're going to eventually say "Eh, whatever" and simply stop.
Let's face it, all of us have an explicit weakness towards praise, especially when it comes to our writing. So let's take advantage of that, folks. It would be better for all of us and Neo Passe in the long run.

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
More feedback will probably net us more activity because people will want to post more in order to get more attention and feedback.
Of course, I could be completely wrong and we're all just a bunch of people who can't do one thing for too long.
