Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
My favorite tabletop character I ever created was a d20 Modern character who could literally talk someone into doing ANYTHING.
I wanted to play a social character, so I beefed up my Charisma and Persuasion so that, at creation, I had a +7 to all Bluff checks, which was nice. ...Then I was the only one who showed up to game one week, so the DM ran a solo mission with me. My reward was as follows:
DM: Okay, pick a trait.
Smithy: ...Any trait? (Wasn't sure at the time if this was good or bad).
DM: One that you use a lot.
Smithy: Well, that's easy. Charisma.
DM: Plus 5 to it.
Smithy: *faints*
I also used the extra experience to up other skills, so from that point forward, I had a +14 to all Bluff checks (in a d20 system!). That led to this wonderful, wonderful moment:
(I'm hiding inside a crate to escape from a guard).
DM: The guard walks towards the crate you're in, shotgun at the ready.
Smithy: I say, loudly but very calmly, "Phil... there is no one inside this crate." (I was really just trying to be an ass, because I was screwed).
DM: ...Really?
Smithy: Let me roll a Bluff check for the hell of it?
DM: Okay, sure, whatever.
Smithy: *rolls a 20* (Note that I had a boost from earlier in the night, giving me an extra +2 to Charisma for the session).
DM: That's... that's a 36. ...Holy mother of God, you passed. Um... I guess... the guard, fully believing he just heard the voice of God, shrugs, turns around and... walks away.
(We're all dying laughing at this point).
DM: ...And his name wasn't even Phil.

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
I highly doubt that our DM would give me a plus 5 in my Charisma xD
That's kind of what I was going for, as well. Since I'm a Sorcerer I have the highest Charisma in the party, so I also figured I was going to be the "face" of the party. I've got an 8 in Bluff, a 6 in Diplomacy (not a class skill though ) and a 10 in Intimidate.
I eagerly await the day that I can bluff/intimidate opposing foes into joining our side with but a glance.

Sup dawgs.
Currently writing my own campaign for my girlfriend and her sister. A campaign for only two people is kind of hard, since they're not covering a lot of bases :<
WE ALL STOPPED POSTING WHY DID WE DO THAT ;_;

I'M SORRY I'M NOT AVAILABLE. If you did it next weekend... well, no, actually, I wouldn't be available then, either, because of Mother's Day, but the weekend after that! ...Is kinda busy too... but after THAT!
PEOPLE NEED TO STOP SCHEDULING THINGS ON WEEKENDS RAWR

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
Why is this place being attacked by shop wiki ads? D=
THEY'RE EVERYWHERE. THEY'RE INVADING. QUICK, EVERYONE, STOCK UP ON CANNED GOODS. APOCALYPSE IS UPON US. @_@
In other news, it stormed today. Hard. Torrential downpour and such. While I was outside. Trying desperately to get rid of rotten food from work. In a coat. Without a hood. A coat that got soaked through almost instantly.
It was fun.

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
I'm playing around with the settings trying to figure out why we're under attack by the ad, but no luck so far.
If I can't figure it out, I'll e-mail support. I don't mind ads (the site has to make money somehow), but this is ridiculous.
EDIT: Fixed. I had to reset the forum template to do it, though, so the site looks a little different now.

It looks nicer now. Less glitchy.
SO SORRY GUYS. I'm posting when I get off work. I don't give a fuck. I have to, I've just been so damn busy with work and errands. But me and Kris are going to RUSTLE YOUR JIMMIES and we're getting this back in momentum.

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
I think I might take my thread down. Nobody comes here anymore, and now that I'm trying to make the possibility of publishing a real and attainable goal, having them out there on a nearly-abandoned forum is making me nervous.

I'm usually always on. You people make me lonely.
Up to you, though, in the end.

I'm always here. Lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike unexpectedly.
BAM!

Taking it down isn't a bad idea, but I'm around here lots too <3 The forum is slow, but active. Suits me fine.
Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
Sometime this week, I'm hoping to launch my RP, now that all of the epic things of the past week are done.
Avengers was awesome, of course, but it distracted me from doing anything meaningful for some time.
Last night, I went to a Coheed and Cambria concert, was reduced to an oozing mess by all of the awesomeness, because favorite band live? It's an awesome thing. They even played a song off of their yet to be released album. <3
So yes. Now I'm back, I'm slightly deaf, and I'm here to write obnoxious posts.
How's life for everybody else?

Re: GD2: The Gritty Reboot
I was slightly woozy myself, last night. Played Words With Friends with my woman and made her so mad when I placed only one point letters on triple letter score tiles. Then I got thirty one points for placing one letter. Then I did that exact same thing again. By the end she wasn't even speaking to me.
Words With Friends + Vodka + Hypercompetitive Woman = Escapism that trumps any RP we could ever write

I concur with Rusticus.
Also, that's amazing, Jason. My friends won't play word games with me anymore for similar reasons. xD
